About
About Me
I’m a contemporary coastal artist living and working in Cornwall, creating soulful, expressive paintings inspired by the raw beauty and rhythm of the sea. My work is deeply rooted in the outdoors — shaped by a life spent rowing, swimming, surfing, and walking the coastline, always chasing that sense of freedom and connection.
What many people don’t know is that I originally trained and worked as a vet — a path driven by my love for animals and nature. But over time, I felt an undeniable pull toward the studio, where I could translate what I felt outdoors into colour, movement, and texture. More and more of my days are now spent painting, and I have to pinch myself that I get to call this my work. It’s a journey I never planned, but one I feel incredibly grateful for.
At the heart of what I create is an invitation: a pause. In a world that moves too fast, I want my art to offer people a sense of stillness, freedom, and space to breathe. My paintings, prints, and now my homeware collection are all shaped by this same intention — to bring the wildness and calm of the Cornish coast indoors.
Whether you’re collecting a painting, a print, or a piece for your home, I hope my work helps you reconnect — with the sea, with beauty, and with a quieter part of yourself. It’s all for ocean hearts and wild souls who crave that feeling of being close to the water.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I wouldn’t be able to do this without your support — and it means the world.
With love from Cornwall,
Sophie x
